Preliminary findings from a small-scale study done by Georgetown University Medical Center researches indicate that a medication approved to treat leukemia may halt or reverse the progression of Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.

Dr. Moussa states that their work “has been focused on repositioning this already-FDA-approved drug, that we now have a good safety profile to use, for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases — to stop or halt cell death in the brain and reverse the progression of the disease.”
